I’m not sure bout you but I love a good tee I do. Thing is, I much prefer the hang of a man’s cut over the clingy tees designed for women. Personally, I like to be able to move around in ‘em, roll up the sleeves and hide my muffin top (‘Stay away from the KFC then’ I hear you cry!) all in one fair swoop. BINGO! A nice man’s M tee is like a gift from the Gods.
Why am I wittering on about tees? Well, at Airs and Graces we’re all about independents on their grind and just so happens two of the best independents in town have just dropped new lines. So, without further a due I present some of London’s finest.
Negrete:

Self proclaimed ‘product of a wasted Youth’, London based Negrete (pronounced ni-gre-tay’ if you please) is the metaphorical love child of hilarious Hull lad, Kristian Bromley and 90’s Hip hop. Independent to its core, this label is sweatshop free, and always comes correct with something funky fffresh.
This is a strictly online affair so go over to Negrete and have a look at the latest offerings.
Personal current fave is this homage to Mr Slick Rick:

Dirrrteee:

Never to be caught slippin’, another London based independent, Dirrrtee is one to watch. Nice chap James is at the helm here, flying the flag for an independent ‘love in’ – Viva la revolution we say! Whether you want to flip the script with your own take on a tee and get this talented lot to create a custom design for you or you’re more of an off the peg kinda person, we say get down and Dirrrtee. Again this in strictly online at the moment, so go and have a look at the new line Dirrrtee
Personal current Fave is the Dirrrtee girrrls:

I should point out, there’s just one exceptions to my personal preference for boys tees and this is the heavyweight clothing label, really holding it’s own in London Town and globally – Not Bad For a Girl. Catering just for ladies, designing seriously well thought out, beautifully executed and design conscious tees and hoodies, this is definitely one you should be checking for. At the moment they’re restocking the shelves but keep checking back to see what the ridiculously talented Karen Jane is going to come with next, I can assure you she will not disappoint…
Old school fave is the classic script hoodie:

Let your fingers do the walking. Let your money do the talking. Support independents.
